What’s Your Cup of Tea?

teavana by you.

The question that every tea lover has trouble answering: “what’s your favorite cup?”

With such an amazing array of options (glass, ceramic, porcelain, cast iron, etc), it’s rather easy to acquire a few favorite cups and maybe even an entire collection. Beyond their function, tea cups are trusty companions for tea lovers and often carry sentimental value, not to mention being true works of art in both visual and sculptural design.

Although it’s hard to play favorites, here are a few tea cup beauties that caught my eye:

Pour Deux Glass Tea Cup Set
“This clear glass tea cups even feature handles so you can sip with ease. This tea cup set is made of Borosilicate glass, which is stronger and more heat-resistant than traditional glassware.”

Hada Cast Iron Tea Cup
“With a unique simplicity, this tea cup looks great next to almost any matching teapot. The textured finish is pleasing to the eye and makes it easy to grasp.”

Cherry Branch Tea Cup
“Delicate in appearance, this wonderful white tea cup features the branch of a cherry tree growing up two sides of the cup.”

Song Dynasty Porcelain Tea Mug with Infuser
“The Song Dynasty (960 A.D. to 1276 A.D) is considered the most important dynasty in Chinese porcelain history. Ru Kiln Celadon is praised as manufacturing the most precious national treasures of China. The addition of onyx crystals to the glaze and a unique firing technique make this beautiful mug distinct in color and of silken texture.”

What’s your favorite tea cup???

I’ve been absolutely in love with the Hada cast iron cups since they first came out. They are part of 2 different cast iron sets that I have. I really wish they’d come out with a koi fish cup, cast iron or not. I’m pretty sure it would be my new favorite!

I really love the small tea cups that have no handles. I have actually begun collecting them. I’ve bought some and others I have acquired from friends and family who saw them and thought they were just perfect. My tea pot of choice, however, is cast iron. I love it so much. A set I would love to see is a Cast iron pot and a ceramic cup that is meant to be a set that is based off of water’s flow (A zen garden comes to mind for this) or dragons. Both would look amazing. I just dont enjoy the cast iron cups as much because I dont like how it feels on my lips when I drink.
