monkey-picked oolong tea

In a previous post we shared that “legend has it that Buddist monks trained actual monkeys to climb to the top of the Camellia sinensis plant and pick the youngest tea buds for a premium oolong tea,” as the monks were unable to climb to the highest branches to pick the tea. Superior oolong teas are now known as “monkey picked,” which refers to the high grade rather than the legendary technique.

Monkey-Picked Oolong tealeaves, the ultimate of oolong teas, are young, fresh and evenly sized. Handled with extreme care, these unbroken tealeaves will delicately unfurl to release the complex taste and aromas that oolongs can offer.

This incredibly smooth, subtly vegetal and floral tea is not just a treat for the palate, but also for the body, as it is known to increase metabolism and lower cholesterol thanks to the tea’s tannins.

As you take your last soothing sip, keep in mind that you can repeat your oolong adventure, as Monkey-Picked Oolong can be infused multiple times.
