New Harvest Travel Journal: Mediterranean
Cocoa Praline Tart Rooibos Tea
Straight from the bustling streets of India, I find myself unwinding against a breathtaking Aegean backdrop in Santorini, Greece. There are so many amazing scents and flavors in the local cuisine. But, I’ve found divine inspiration in a cozy little beachside café–a homemade pear and fig stuffed tart, lightly drizzled with chocolate. A decadent indulgence and the inspiration for one of my favorite New Harvest teas: Cocoa Praline Tart.
This dessert teais the perfect way to end a meal and wind down a day. The blissful aroma of this rooibos blend fills the air simply upon opening the package. Carob, chocolate flakes and cocoa powder create a rich, creamy base while the macadamia nuts and vanilla provide sweet, nutty undertones. Fig, pineapple and pear offer fruity, slightly tart notes which stand up to the rich chocolate impeccably. As rooibos and honeybush teas have no caffeine this indulgence makes an excellent after dinner dessert or late night treat. It’s also a great way to introduce the flavors and nutrients of tea to children.
If you haven’t guessed, I have a bit of a sweet tooth and I love that this tea is rich and satisfying enough to curb any dessert craving. Not only does it spare me the calories of that after dinner brownie I would most certainly otherwise devour, but the rooibos tea provides vitamins, minerals and antioxidants as well. So, I can savor each sip of this sweet treat without remorse.
From the Santorini coast to your cup, enjoy!
Next destination…South America!
So…. I came back again hoping to find inspiration in this blog for my next tea indulgence.
