Tea Blend of the Day: Gentle Warrior Latte
This tea seems to be a good transition between spicy chais that are popular during the Winter months and Rooibos or fruity teas that become popular during Summer. It is slightly spicy, but muted by a wonderful vanilla taste that you’ll love. Here’s the blend:
Gentle Warrior Latte
Use 1 tsp of Samurai Chai Mate and 1 tsp of Honeybush Vanilla per 8oz of water. Heat water to 195 degrees (just before boiling) and steep for five minutes. Add a tablespoon or so of cream (to your taste) and enjoy.
The tea ends up with a creamy, slightly spicy taste. It doesn’t need sugar, since the Honeybush Vanilla gives it just enough sweetness and takes the edge off the spice. A great tea for this time of year!
One note: It does have a decent amount of caffeine, so don’t drink it before bed!
I really enjoyed this blend… my fiance drinks coffee in the morning and I am attempting to switch him to just teas. He enjoys your teas almost as much as I do– in fact he doesn’t like drinking the store bought ones anymore, even brands like Tazo and Republic of Tea! (He can really taste the difference and says it is like drinking instant coffee after having Starbucks, with Teavana teas being the Starbucks!)
As for me, I have fibromyalgia and need to take meds to help me “wake up”, so I decided to try the mate tea to see if it would increase my energy levels. Since I also have arthritis, the ginger in chai is good for inflammation– so I get the added benefit of drinking the Samurai Chai Mate. I usually add Silver Needle to any tea I drink to get the antioxidant and detox benefit, but I thought it would be more interesting to try the Zingiber Ginger Coconut Roobios with this mix (since roobios also has the same benefits, even though it isn’t as much as the Silver Needle). We both LOVE the added “ZING” it gives the blend! I would recommend this for anyone who likes coconut!!! It makes the blend really tasty!!!
