Houston Woman Drinks Green Tea & Celebrates 105th Birthday


Our society seems to be on a never-ending quest for the fountain of youth, experimenting with beauty creams, fad diets and intense exercise routines, etc. Yet one of the many keys to unlocking a long, vibrant life can be found in a pot of tea.

According to WITN, an Eastern North Carolina news site, Juanita Black recently celebrated her 105th birthday. Black attributes this longevity to tea: “I don’t drink coffee or anything. I drink green tea. I love it!”

So the next time that you’re watching the green leaves unfurl in the steaming water, remember that you’re not just steeping for the moment but possibly preserving the future.

It’s not surprising that tea grants longevity like this. I can’t see coffee being too palatable for the elderly. However, it needs to be stressed that she also ate a light diet. Overeating is practically the most common killer with all the diseases it leads to.
