Green Tea May Lower Breast Cancer Risk

Green tea is known for its extraordinary health benefits and is considered to be a super tea that helps our bodies combat and prevent illnesses. A new study now links green tea consumption to decreasing the risk of breast cancer.
Lead researcher, Dr. Min Zhang, of the University of Western Australia in Perth recently reported that women who drink green tea and eat plenty of mushrooms may have a lower risk associated with developing breast cancer. After studying over 2,000 women in China, Zhang’s team discovered that

mushroom eaters who also drank green tea everyday had only 11 to 18 percent of the breast cancer risk of women who consumed neither.

This study is the first to associate a dietary connection of mushrooms and green tea to cancer risk. Although Zhang can not yet claim that mushrooms and green tea prevent cancer, a healthy diet will only benefit the body. That being said, green tea’s antioxidants continue to support and maintain a healthy body and mind.
