Fight off Winter Colds and Flu with Tea

Tea has been used for centuries as a natural remedy for illness. As cold and flu season comes into full force, stock up on wellness teas to prepare. Their natural health properties may soothe sore throats, improve breathing and congestion, and settle upset stomachs. This time of year, drinking teas packed with powerful antioxidants and nutrients may be just the thing to boost your immune system and ward off all those office colds. So, as co-workers start coughing and sniffling, start sipping! Here are a few teas I’m keeping handy this season; please share your favorite tea remedies as well!

Silver Needle White Tea

This delicate white tea was once reserved for the Chinese imperial family. Harvested only two days a year using a special Imperial Gathering technique, it is truly a delicacy. The extremely high in antioxidant count and pure, subtle taste makes it ideal for mixing with other teas to add health benefits. Blend this with your favorite tea to dramatically increase your daily intake of healthy antioxidants without tainting the flavor of your tea.

Gyokuro Imperial Green Tea

Gyokuro bushes are specially harvested to increase the chlorophyll content of the leaves. The resulting dark green leaves are highly concentrated with antioxidants, vitamins and amino acids, which may boost the immune system. This vibrant, emerald infusion delivers a sweet aftertaste. A tasty way to ward off office colds and flu!

Jasmine Tropica Tea Blend

This delightful, fruity blend pairs the health benefits of both green and rooibos teas with soothing jasmine flowers. The result is a delicious triple threat to any winter cold. Jasmine Dragon Phoenix Pearls green tea may relax the body and mind while boosting the immune system. Rooibos Tropica blend may assist in fighting allergies and colds. One sip of this warm, fruity remedy and I’ll never go back to cough syrup!

Cheers to Your Health!

I always found the Ginseng Vitality to be a good blend as well.

I always drink more tea when I feel a cold coming on…and most of the time it does keep it away.
