Black is the New Green: Irish Breakfast Black Tea

There are the green shirts, pub crawls and Irish clovers, but why not celebrate Saint Patrick’s day in an original way with a cup of Irish Breakfast Black Tea? This strong brew is a blend of Assam, Nilgiri and China Black and will pack a powerful punch that will last through the entire day of celebration.

Heat your pot of water to about 195-205 degrees, add 1 teaspoon of the tea (per 8oz of water) and steep for 2-3 minutes. If you’re looking for a way to spice up this Irish treat go ahead and add some Bailey’s Irish Creme liquor to make it truly festive.

And unlike the after effects of the pub crawl, Irish Breakfast Black Tea will actually do a body good, as black tea “helps to lower cholesterol and prevent tooth decay. It is also good for the heart, since it acts as a gentle stimulant.”

This year, wear green but drink black. Happy St. Patrick’s Day!!!
