CARE and Teavana in Haiti
With your help, CARE has sprung into action in Haiti. Just in a few weeks, they have distributed:
- 60,000 high-energy biscuits to displaced families, which will provide enough calories per person for four days
- 25,000 PUR water purification packets
- 1,200 hygience kits, with a special focus on the needs of women
- 5,000 mattresses with priority given to families with pregnant women and women with children
- And countless blankets
In addition, CARE installed five water storage bladders in Leogane and Petionville, which will provide potable water to 7,600 people daily through water tanker deliveries. And they have given out delivery kits to pregnant women to help them deliver safer in emergency situations.
All this is because of your generosity and Teavana’s matching donations. But more help is still needed. Haiti will continue to need our help. And Teavana is still matching until we reach the 20,000 mark. CARE needs the money before March 1st, so please give now:
