Teavana Through Your Eyes

Curious to see how tea enthusiasts were sharing their experience with Teavana through photographs, I wandered over to Flickr. I came across a few images that gave a closer look at how they were enjoying their cup of Teavana.

Now here’s your chance to take a peek:

So I have been wondering this for a while and maybe one of you can help me. When I blend two teas, such as Monkey Picked Oolong and say peppermint, how many steeps can I get out of it? I know Monkey Picked Oolong is good for a number of steeps but peppermint is only good for 1. Do I have to waste one very good tea for a good blend?

Wow, must say I would be VERY hesitant about sticking a cup of hot tea (or any beverage for that matter) on my computer! Hopefully the photographer isn’t quite as clumsy as me — I have a nasty habit of spilling stuff.

Not necessarily, Matt — if one of your teas can be reinfused (e.g. Monkey Picked Oolong) and the other is a tisane of some kind (that is, a rooibos, maté, or simply an herbal blend), there’s actually a rather straightforward solution. Since herbals effectively can’t be oversteeped, there’s no harm in adding another serving of peppermint for each reinfusion (assuming you have sufficient space). This, naturally, won’t exactly work if your “flavor” tea isn’t an herbal — I can’t help you there — but for your example it’ll be dandy. Happy brewing! :)
