Tea Blend of the Day: Candy Apple Tea
On a warm Summer weekend not much is better than enjoying a sweet Candy Apple at your local amusement park. They seem to be the perfect American sugary treat during the Summer. But they are not great for your health in any measurable way (I don’t think this is what the jingle meant by “an Apple a day”). So why not try a tea that will remind you of the sugary goodness and actually help your health, rather than hinder it? Our Candy Apple tea blend is just the solution.
We should start by discussing sugar. To really get the “candy apple” feel, you can’t hold back. This is really based on your taste buds, but quite honestly I don’t think you can put too much if you want a strong reminder of the candy apple treat you’re craving. However, I assumed a reasonably high amount of sugar and you can edit as you wish. I did use our all natural, unprocessed German Rock Cane sugar, which is better than white sugar, so don’t feel too bad. Here’s the blend:
Candy Apple Tea blend: Use 1 teaspoon Caribbean Breeze herbal tea, 1 teaspoon Turkish Apple Herbal tea, and 1 teaspoon Apple Lemon Pomegranate Rooibos tea. Add in 2 teaspoons of Rock Sugar. Heat 8 ounces of water until it’s just boiling and steep tea for four minutes.
You can also double the amount of teas used and pour this over ice for a great iced tea. The teas are herbal, so you get lots of vitamins and minerals along with a good dose of antioxidants. And the Rooibos helps with allergies (particularly handy during Spring and Summer months). In the end, this is one great Summer tea!
Thanks again to our Sawgrass Mills Teavana store in Sunrise, Florida for this blend.
Sounds delicious! I can’t wait to go home and try this
