What is Your Favorite Tea Blend?

As committed tea drinkers, we’re always looking for The Perfect Blend. By definition, The Perfect Blend is the one that you crave at all hours of the day, seasons of the year. The one you just can’t live without. I have a few favorite blends, but none (yet) that are “perfect” in that sense. Right now some of my favorites (along with the name I’ve given them):

Spicy Detox:
Gyokuro + Monkey Picked Oolong + Silver Needle + Peppermint. This is the ultimate health tea, since it includes green tea, white tea, and even oolong (the peppermint has health qualities as well as great flavor for this one). And the spicy flavor will keep you coming back again and again.

The Coffee Blend:
MateVana + Rooibos Toffee + Assam Gold Rain. This blend needs a little milk to finish it off. It has the morning caffeine you need, but a lot more nutrition than that Starbucks coffee.

Strawberry Fields Forever:
Like strawberries? Blend Scarlet Cloud + Strawberry Kiwi for a little heaven in your cup. I always add a touch of sugar (but I’m like that).

Hot Chocolate with a kick:
MateVana + Haute Chocolate Rooibos. This tastes just like hot chocolate, but has caffeine and the health benefits of Rooibos.

Holiday Spice:
Spice of Life + Rooibos Chai. For those who loved our Holiday Blend, this is the perfect replacement. It’s a spicy, winter-weather blend and full of antioxidants because of the white tea. Healthy and delicious is always a great combination.

Okay, enough of my favorites for today. What’s your favorite tea blend? Add it in the comments below, but remember the main rule: you have to give it a name. That’s the golden rule on this tea blog, anyway.

My favorite is Matevana + Azteca Fire. I like it lightly sweetened in the morning for breakfast. The chocolate notes make me not miss my morning mocha so much.

Another NEW favorite (I concocted it tonight) is Tranquil Dreams + Honeybush Vanilla. Wow, delish.

I have had trouble loving oolong but have been trying to find one that I don’t find the taste offensive. I started with Formosa Nut but don’t like the taste so I splurged on Six Summits and on reccommendation of one of the associates, I paired it with Lemon Blast Mate. FINALLY, an oolong that is paired with something that results in a good flavor. I am a heavy scooper and steeped it for 4 minutes. Sweetened slightly with 1.5 tsp of rock cane sugar.

I’v concocted a competitor to the already-blogged-about “Apple Pie a la mode,” which I call “Warm Apple Pie.” It consists of equal parts Turkish Apple, Honeybush Vanilla, Almond Biscotti, and sugar. Give it a try and see which you think better replicates an American favorite!

I’m pretty sure someone else has made this blend before, but Peppermint & Haute Chocolate is amazing. Spice of Life and Rooibos Orange is great hot or iced. Also Tung Ting Jade (or Jasmine) Oolong and Rooibos Tropica blend well.

Azteca Fire mixed with Strawberry/kiwi iced…THE ULTIMATE CHOCOLATE COVERED STRAWBERRY!

Silver Needle, Monkey Picked Oolong, and Blueberry Bliss . . . great iced, deliciously refreshing and unbelievably healthy.

Blend Dragonwell with some Green Tea Heaven and Silver Needle for the ultimate rich green tea mix. Also boosts mental clarity. I use two scoops of each and a little German Rock Cane Sugar to bring out the rhubarb flavor. So relaxing!

Is there anything better than Spiced Nut Mate and Caramel Rooibos? Caramel covered Nuts?

Valerie at store 79 here. Thanks to my coffee-drinking grandfather, I was weened onto coffee at the early age of 2. As such, I have a strong resistance to caffeine and it’s a lot harder for me to get any energy out of it. This said, my absolute FAVORITE pick me up tea in the morning is what I like to call “Double Mate Black”. It is Mate Vana + Spice Nut Mate + Ceylon Vithanakande. The chocolaty undertones in the Ceylon really go well to complement the two mates, and it is one heck of an energy kick (220% the caffeine of a cup of coffee, oh my.) I made it for a customer today who was also a seasoned coffee drinker (and had more coffee-drinking years under his belt than I) and he was not really into tea. He tried it, and said he really liked it. It has a slight astringency that avid coffee-ites look for, but it’s a lot smoother. :)

YUMM!

Try Earl Grey Creme and Blueberry Bliss. It sounds crazy, I know but it made me the man I am today. Also, Dragonwell and Raspberry Sangria makes a mean iced raspberry green tea. AND Banana Kiwi Karma, Azteca Fire, Rooibos Vanilla, Formosa Oolong, and Banana Calypso seriously tastes just like a banana split.

Some of these sound wonderful..but do you mix to taste or are there actual measurements that should be followed?
Also, has anyone tried Eastern Chamomile Herbal + Tranquil Dream? I’m thinking of trying that mix.
